Cycle, Walk, Run, or Sip Tieton in the Spring

Here's to the turn of the seasons, Spring is here again! After a winter with relatively little precipitation, June holds forecasts for clear skies, 80 degrees, and sunshine. The clouds are few and float by high above the hills. Occasional rain storms are providing necessary water to the orchards, now past the flowering stage.

Fruit is a mid- to late-summer treat. Spring in the Yakima Valley means excellent conditions for outdoor activities--cycling, running, and hiking. River floating is best left for late July and August, once the rivers have warmed a bit.

Wine tasting, however, is a year-round sport, and the Valley is seeing new wineries (and breweries!) pop up all the time. Visit the Yakima Valley Visitors and Convention Bureau to help plan your visit. Or check out Mighty Tieton's events calendar to plan a creative retreat-and-recharge session.

Pack the kids, too! The Valley has plenty of fun for the young ones--berry picking, exploring the Yakima Arboretum and Greenway, identifying flora and fauna at Snow Mountain Ranch (this last is part of the Cowiche Canyon Conservancy).

We look forward to making your visit to Tieton and the Yakima Valley a pleasant one.
