The sunshine has finally arrived in Tieton and with it, there's a lot to look forward to. What's a stay at El Nido in the Spring look like? Budding flower bushes, and rows (and rows and rows) of blooming apple orchards. The birds will be chirping! El Nido is an ideal location to bird watch so bring your binoculars and camera along. Pull up a seat outside your front door, it's time to relax!
Welcome it with a glass of wine and good company! Tieton is growing and that means more options for dining out. Santo's Panaderia has incredible pastries. Don Mateo's has top notch Salvadoran cuisine, order the papusas and enjoy! Fernando's Mexican Cuisine is a local favorite. 617 on Tieton Square, Mighty Tieton's newest hangout, is can't miss.
617 on Tieton Square is a new, elegant hangout right on the square in Tieton, serving a few carefully selected local beers, wines, and ciders, and an ever changing mix of tapas.
Come check out this new space and 617’s "Wall of Ideas" to get a preview of some of the exciting plans taking shape in Tieton. Who knows, you may become part of them!

"Loved this place - best part was their quality linens! Slipping off to sleep under pristine white cotton sheets and 3” down comforter after a long days work , I quickly dropped of to deep REM and dreams! I woke with fresh French Press brewed coffee and a peaceful walk in the labyrinth."

There's lots to see and do around here in the fall! The leaves are changing, fruit is being harvested, and the hiking trails are cooling off. We recommend swinging by Thompson's Farm to visit farm animals, get lost in the corn maze, eat fresh pumpkin donuts, and pick your perfect pumpkin. Thompson's Farm is open weekends 9am - 4pm and a quick ten minute drive from El Nido Tieton.
Recently, El Nido Tieton hosted a special group of guests, a wedding party! The wonderful photographer, Solie Designs, took full advantage of El Nido Tieton's natural scenery and used the lush grounds as a backdrop to many of the photos. Take a full look at the Mighty Tieton wedding here. Interested in staying with a group? Contact us today!
A photo taken right here in Tieton's backyard made it to the New York Times. Come for the views and stay at El Nido Tieton!
"Travelers to the Pacific Northwest are sometimes lured by postcard promises of orca whales or the Space Needle against a backdrop of lofty peaks. But what too few tourists learn is this: The massive dome of Mount Rainier — arguably the showiest of Washington State’s majestic Cascades — is best beheld not from Puget Sound but from the high desert east of the mountains. There, from points up and down the Yakima Valley, Rainier and its sister summit, Mount Adams, loom like giant snow cones above swaths of irrigated farmland and sagebrush-covered range."

The notes left in the El Nido Tieton guest books are simply the best, we love hearing about your stay. Looks like the view of the solar eclipse from cabin 6 was pretty spectacular.
Tieton Saturdays are best spent exploring! We recommend starting at BOXX Gallery, open every Saturday, 11am - 4pm. The gallery is just a couple short blocks from El Nido Cabins and shows rotate monthly. This month's show, “Outside the BOXX”, is inspired by the breathtaking landscape of the Cowiche Canyon. Learn more about BOXX Gallery.
After taking in the local art scene, it's time to appreciate the landscape! Take on one of the many Cowiche Canyon trails. We recommend hiking the Cowiche Canyon Winery Trail. What's better than a pit stop at the winery? Cheers!
Our very own apricot tree is a cover model! You can find this shot on the current July cover of Good Fruit Grower. The beautiful photo was taken by the talented John A. Kane. The tree is now in full fruit and ready for the picking. Guests of El Nido are invited to enjoy the fruit. The tree can found behind cabins one through four, along North Tieton Road.
Here's to the turn of the seasons, Spring is here again! After a winter with relatively little precipitation, June holds forecasts for clear skies, 80 degrees, and sunshine. The clouds are few and float by high above the hills. Occasional rain storms are providing necessary water to the orchards, now past the flowering stage.
Fruit is a mid- to late-summer treat. Spring in the Yakima Valley means excellent conditions for outdoor activities--cycling, running, and hiking. River floating is best left for late July and August, once the rivers have warmed a bit.
Wine tasting, however, is a year-round sport, and the Valley is seeing new wineries (and breweries!) pop up all the time. Visit the Yakima Valley Visitors and Convention Bureau to help plan your visit. Or check out Mighty Tieton's events calendar to plan a creative retreat-and-recharge session.
Pack the kids, too! The Valley has plenty of fun for the young ones--berry picking, exploring the Yakima Arboretum and Greenway, identifying flora and fauna at Snow Mountain Ranch (this last is part of the Cowiche Canyon Conservancy).
We look forward to making your visit to Tieton and the Yakima Valley a pleasant one.
